Mr. Powell is a member of the Business Practice Group. He represents business clients involved in a variety of general corporate matters including business entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial transactions.
Mr. Powell previously worked as a summer law clerk with Bodman. Before beginning law school, he worked as a research analyst involved in tracking legal, business, and financial trends in the health care and automotive industries.
While in law school, Mr. Powell was an associate editor of the Michigan Law Review, and was a student attorney with the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Project. He also served on the board of two different student organizations: Outlaws, the LGBT organization at the University’s Law School, and the Michigan Immigration and Labor Law Association. Mr. Powell participated in the creation of the Know Your Rights Project, a collaboration between Outlaws, the Jim Toy Community Center, and Legal Services of South Central Michigan to provide free LGBT-centered legal support to individuals across the state of Michigan.
