Overview

Mr. Peters is a member of Bodman’s Business Practice Group and Automotive/Industrial Team. He routinely represents a variety of clients in mergers and acquisitions, including both public and private companies.

Transactions include purchases and sales of entire businesses, as well as subsidiaries and divisions, in a range of industries, including automotive, infrastructure, insurance, telecommunications, and life sciences. Mr. Peters also provides counsel regarding securities regulation and securities law compliance matters, and has represented issuers in initial public and private securities offerings, including high-yield debt offerings and demutualizations.

Mr. Peters has extensive experience acting as general counsel to several private equity portfolio companies, including representation of Key Plastics L.L.C. during the restructuring of its European operations, as well as continuing to provide counsel on day-to-day business and commercial issues. He also regularly advises clients regarding international transactions.

While a partner at another large local firm, Mr. Peters was recognized as Member of the Year by World Services Group, an international legal and business referral network.

DBusiness magazine named Mr. Peters a “Top Lawyer” in Commercial Law for 2014. He is listed in Chambers USA 2017 under Corporate/M&A. He is vice chair of the Business Law Section Council of the State Bar of Michigan.

Mr. Peters serves as assistant scoutmaster of Troop 1022 (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) and is a member of the Order of the Arrow, the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America.
